At Siarza, community is not just a concept. It’s a powerful force that drives personal growth, corporate success, and collective well-being. Our commitment to building and nurturing communities goes beyond business objectives—it’s embedded in our very DNA.

In today’s fast-paced world, the sense of belonging and support that community provides is more crucial than ever. For individuals, being part of a community offers a network of support, fostering personal development and mental well-being. For companies, engaging with their communities can lead to enhanced brand loyalty, increased innovation, and sustainable growth.

Siarza’s approach is simple yet profound: Community is key. At the beginning of our journey at Siarza, the community’s unwavering support was there for us, for which we are deeply grateful.

The encouragement and assistance we received from local nonprofits and community leaders were instrumental to our early success.

Today, we take pride in giving back year-round through dedicated volunteer efforts and robust collaborations with nonprofit organizations. Our commitment to fostering local growth and strengthening community bonds lies at the core of Siarza’s mission, reflecting our deep gratitude for the networks that believed in us from the very beginning.

Several of our teammates shared their definitions of community and described its impact on their lives and those around them.

Justin Otsuka:

“I think of people and animals as being in rings of compassion for us to consider throughout our lives. Our family ring, our friend ring, then our neighborhood, our city, widening rings extending all the way to strangers across the globe that we’ll never see or meet. I think we put the most attention into that first ring and then it gets less and less as the rings widen, but for me, community is that sweet spot between your closest family members and an anonymous crowd that’s too big for you to identify with. It’s a shared understanding that we all want a safe and thriving space outside our home and it starts with treating others as we’d hope to be treated.”

Alejandro Pineda:

“To me, community means a sense of belonging and support. It’s about coming together with like-minded individuals, sharing experiences, and creating a support system that fosters understanding, compassion, and unity. In a community, everyone’s voices are heard. It’s a place where you feel valued, respected, and connected, knowing that you’re part of something bigger than yourself.”

Ed Kirson:

Community means trusting that someone will be there for you. Even if you are having a bad day, they’re able to put you at ease and bring positivity.”

Donyelle Kesler:

“Community means having a trusted group you can rely on for support—people who connect you with what you need, offer assistance, and rally around you during both celebrations and challenges. It’s the group you contribute your time or talent to and give back to when you can as you work together to accomplish individual and collaborative goals. Community is necessary. Community is a gift. And being part of communities is invaluable.”

Julia Starkey:

“I define community as the people around me who share a common mindset of supporting one another and always having each other’s backs through thick and thin. We all have some form of community surrounding us, whether it’s family, friends, coworkers, or beyond. When you recognize the support that envelops you, it brings strength and empowerment through every high and low in the journey of life.”

Marisa Graham:

“To me, community means supporting causes we care about and actively working together to make a positive impact. Staying involved in our local communities keeps us connected, builds stronger relationships, and allows us to create lasting change where it matters most.

Kristelle Siarza Moon:

“When I established the core values of Siarza, the word ‘community’ was my foremost inspiration. It holds profound significance for me—it embodies the Filipino way of life, representing the people surrounding us and evoking the image of a village. To me, the community encompasses those within your circle of care, support, influence, and love.”
