Oh what a year! We’ve had some great moments over the last 12 months at our agency including big changes, major client wins and rewarding challenges. Here are our #best9of2018 (as chosen by our team because Instagram didn’t exactly get it right…sorry Instagram.)

9. Our Anniversary

In November, we celebrated the start of our fifth year in business. It was a great time to reflect on our last four years as an agency, all that we have accomplished and those important learning lessons we’ve had along the way. It also meant time to celebrate as a team and let off some steam with axe throwing. No kidding, our team kicks serious axe!

8. Our Internship Program

For the last three years, we’ve had the privilege of mentoring students in our community. We’ve been lucky to learn as much from these talented young professionals as we have taught them. We had five college students come through our internship program in 2018, one for a second time who also became our most recent hire! This is the second employee who started out as an intern at Siarza SD.

7. Our New Team

Speaking of new hires, we’ve added some pretty great folks to our team in 2018. A newbie to Albuquerque, Lauren is helping on web projects overseeing each website build from beginning to end! Simon joined us in August as our new Graphic Designer, from logos to fliers and everything in between, he ensures everything we produce is visually stunning! Nellie also joined our team this fall as our Office Manager and makes sure our office runs smoothly (and that everyone has plenty of Sharpies on hand!)

6. Our Awesome Events

Events are definitely our favorite part of the gig and we got to be part of some pretty spectacular Albuquerque events. We were proud to sponsor SOMOS ABQ, ABQ Strides Against Breast Cancer, Rio Grande Down Syndrome Network’s Buddy Walk and TEDxABQ. Our team helped with promotion of each and brought the FOMO, covering every bit of the day’s events to social media.

5. Our Festive Weekend at Festival of Trees

We’re huge fans of the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation and all they do for children in our community. Their Festival of Trees is truly magical and our team had a great time at their Weekend of Wonder. We take our Christmas Tree decorating pretty seriously and could not be more proud of the way our Darth Vader tree turned out. We were even more thrilled to see it sold before we even arrived at the Whiskey, Wine and Wonder Festival of Trees Gala. It was a great way to kick off our work covering the weekend-long event accompanied by families all over our community and Santa himself.

Side note: SiarzaSD made the nice list.

4. Our NM Family Friendly Business Award

Family first. Our agency is committed to our employees having paid leave, health support and flexible work schedules to ensure each member of our SiarzaSD family has a healthy life/work balance and the support they need. We were proud to be recognized with a New Mexico Family Friendly Business Award in 2018.

3. Our Night at the B2B Expo  

The B2B Expo networking event is always a great evening to spend time with our peers and friends in the Albuquerque business community. It made it even more special to be nominated as Best Local Brand in the company of some pretty amazing local businesses.

2. Our Week with the Navy

Albuquerque Navy Week was one of our most rewarding projects to date. Our team planned 40+ events, media opportunities and accompanied the U.S. Navy around town for a week-long celebration designed to give Albuquerque an opportunity to learn about the Navy, it’s people and its importance to national security and prosperity.

1. Our Cumbre Best of Show Award

Each year the New Mexico Public Relations Society of America recognizes the best work of their colleagues in the industry with the Cumbre Awards. SiarzaSD entered our work for the first time last year and were proud to take home Silver and Gold awards in 2017. This year, a last-minute decision to enter resulted in a Silver Award for our work with Everest Apothecary and a gold award for our work on Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation’s Mudd Volleyball Tournament. Our Mudd Volleyball recognition also earned us a Best of Show in the category of social media with a perfect score! Our team thrives when they’re having the most fun and this award absolutely reflected that!
