Year in Review – My Humbling Moment in Leadership
While most people are enjoying Spotify Wrapped, I wanted to take this opportunity to express heartfelt thoughts.
I want to give a round of applause to my agency colleagues who have had incredibly successful and transformative months. When a client invests in marketing, it’s a leap of faith. It’s like starting a chess match timer, and it’s time for your team to strategize every move to secure victory.
I’m also reflecting on our long-time competitors who are either retiring or making monumental changes in 2024. This time of year seems to be a significant moment of transition or passing the torch. However, I see it as a new beginning and an even greater opportunity to place my trust in my team to rise to the occasion.
I wanted to share my humbling moment as a part of Siarza’s year in review.
Choosing to step away from the company in September was not a difficult decision for me, as I wanted to focus on my new life as a wife. However, mentally, I wasn’t able to be the best leader I could be since I was preoccupied with the little details of the big day.
But upon my return, I realized that the team was operating smoothly and the company was financially stable. While I established the vision of Siarza nine years ago, it is still being carried out even in my absence.
I even asked myself, “do they even need me anymore?” At times I felt like I was getting in the way of the work, or feeling clueless to the client situation.
This taught me an important leadership lesson:
The growth of a company is truly the result of a cohesive team. A leader’s role is to keep the team on the right path and serve as a guiding light.
In fact, our leadership is gaining more recognition as award-winning leaders and project managers. Winning an award on your own is an accomplishment, but witnessing a team member accept their own award is even more fulfilling.
So, if I were to summarize our year in an infographic or interactive image, I wouldn’t be able to. The stories, smiles, and successes of the team cannot be quantified. This year has been incredibly successful, thanks to the entire Siarza team.
Cheers to 2024. May you have a prosperous new year.
