ALBUQUERQUE NAVY WEEK PUBLIC RELATIONS
Client: NAVCO (Navy Office of Community Outreach)
Industry: Government/Military
PROBLEM & Solution
NAVCO wanted to enhance the visibility and impact of Albuquerque Navy Week (ANW) 2022, aiming to build stronger connections with local businesses, schools, and organizations, stimulate media coverage, and highlight the importance of the Navy in Albuquerque.
Siarza developed a comprehensive strategy encompassing diverse marketing and PR tactics.
Implementation
- To connect NAVCO with local entities, Siarza organized stakeholder meetings with various groups such as boys and girls clubs, health nonprofits, government officials, etc.
- Media relations were strengthened through the distribution of eight press releases, generating substantial media coverage for ANW.
- Siarza also supported NAVCO’s content by providing high-quality video content, working closely with an in-house videographer.
- Social media engagement was increased by sharing NAVCO’s content on relevant Albuquerque partners’ pages.

Results
- Siarza successfully connected NAVCO with 20+ organizations resulting in 130+ events in Albuquerque.
- Siarza exceeded expectations, driving media coverage with an audience reach of 2.5 million people.
- There were a total of 57 stories published, significantly surpassing the target range of 10-20 stories.
Lessons Learned:
Clarity on the scope of work is key. Siarza found that taking on additional tasks outside their main focus of media relations limited their capacity to deliver even more in that area. Expanding community partnerships could amplify outreach and engagement, increasing event attendees and overall impact.
Conclusion
The campaign was a resounding success, achieving and exceeding the set objectives. Siarza’s strategies provided NAVCO with valuable connections, ample media coverage, and increased community engagement.
